- The client loves the appearance of the sound absorbing acoustic panels in his home or venue
- The noise level has been lowered by between 30 to 60%
- The echo ( room reverberation time) has been lowered by between 40 to 80%
- It is now possible to comfortably relax in the room while being able to communicate with other people and be understood.
When room surfaces are highly reflective, sound energy continues to reflect or reverberate. The effect of this condition is described as a live space with a long reverberation time. A high reverberation time will cause a buildup of the noise level in a space.
The only way to lower the noise or echo level in a room is to lower the reverberation time of the room. To lower the reverberation time of the room, sound energy must be removed from the affected room. Installing the correct number of acoustic ceiling panels or acoustic wall panels will remove the excess sound energy thus creating an acoustic environment where people can communicate and be undersood. Most rooms that poor acoustics have a reverberation time of greater than 1.2 seconds. After the acoustic panels are installed you can expect the reverberation time to drop to below 0.8 seconds. This will result in less noise and echo problems. By using our NTI XL2 Audio Acoustic Analyzer, Melfoam Acoustics will do before and after testing of the room to guarantee the desired reverberation time of the room is created, thus delivering a pleasing acoustic environment. |
